
Previous experience:-
Following seven years working in various onshore and site laboratories including overseas projects in both Algeria and Turkmenistan, Malcolm moved to Oleochem (Scotland) Limited based in Dyce, Aberdeen. Over the next 8 ½ years he progressed from a Site Service Chemist role, with experience of working in the UK and Danish sector of the North Sea as well as the Far East and the Middle East, to an Operations Supervisor position, to Operations Manager and finally to the position of General Manager reporting directly to the Managing Director and with responsibility for all of the company's operations worldwide.
He then transferred to the position of Projects and Contracts Services Manager within Oleochem Project Management Limited. Whilst there, he was responsible for the timely execution of laboratory projects from the initial preparation of quotations through to delivery of the completed package. He was also responsible for the management of the company's offshore laboratory manning contracts.
Previous experience:-
The early years of Steve's career were spent working at the Rowett Research Institute before moving into the oil industry in 1990. He then worked offshore for eight years for Intertek on a number of installations before moving to Oleochem International Services.
Following eight years working offshore on the Ramform Banff FPSO, in 2006 Steve moved to an onshore position with Oleochem Project Management Limited in Dyce, Aberdeen as Project Chemist. His main roles and responsibilities were to design, procure and deliver laboratory equipment packages to oil installation engineering companies as well as to perform any consultancy and training work either onshore or offshore.
