Tricyclic Limited has developed an oilfield laboratory training course designed to introduce candidates to the oil and gas industry.
This 3 day course is aimed at those entering the oil industry with a view to working in an offshore laboratory; those already in the industry but requiring to update their skills or those simply wishing to learn more about the role of the oilfield chemist.
Course modules will include:-
• Role of the Chemist in the oilfield laboratory;
• Sampling;
• Laboratory analysis techniques - theory and practice of most common tests;
• Separation systems;
• Laboratory management;
• Oilfield chemicals;
• Enhanced oil recovery techniques.
The course will run at various times during the year, dependent on demand.
Successful completion of the course will allow candidates to bank credits towards the Tricyclic Limited award – “Certificate in Laboratory Operations – Oil and Gas” – an SQA approved competency based qualification.
Tricyclic Limited Operations Director, Malcolm Campbell, said, “This course is specifically designed to introduce a level of competence into employees before they travel to an oil installation. Together with other initiatives, we hope that this course will address the skills shortage being experienced by the oil and gas industry and introduce candidates to an exciting and dynamic working environment.”
The next course is scheduled to run in May 2010 and further details can be obtained from contacting Tricyclic Limited on +44 (0)1224 330508 or info@tricyclic.co.uk
